I don't know Frank, I was raised Lutheran, and just because they call it Hot Dish doesn't make it less of a casserole.

I was raised Baptist, and became Lutheran. They will have to split the market on casseroles for chu'ch suppers.....

(Ever listen to Garrison Keillor/Prarie Home Companion?)

My favorite was "Why can't you hear a pterodactyl go to the bathroom?''

"Because the 'p' is silent."

And the Ole and Lena joke about the funeral is one of my all-time favorites.

Ole is on his deathbed. The doctor has told him he has only a few hours to live. He catches the scent of his favorite cookies wafting through the air. With all the strength he can muster, he drags himself into the kitchen and sees a fresh pan cooling on the rack. He takes one and bites into the scrumptious cookie. Lena comes in, smacks his hand, and says, "Ole! Dese are for de funeral!"
