*hyperventilating*
I called the store immediately and no one had returned it....yet. I proceeded with my shopping trip at Walmart because Costco was now a 45 min round trip away and I just couldn't go back at this time. I calmed down a bit realizing that a) thankfully, I wrote the whole menu down on this bb (see how helpful you guys are, really?), and b) most of my shopping list is on my phone. So....with just a bit of recollection, I should be able to rewrite the whole list. Hopefully. And I know which recipes I downloaded so I'll just get another copy.
I will call Costco again tonight or tomorrow and maybe someone will have turned it in by then. I knew I was going to forget it. I never walk around with a folder when I go grocery shopping. And how many times have I forgotten stuff in the front of the cart? Plenty!

Alina is, as usual, right, but I also understood that you got a very high end app for your droid that would accomodate your menu and shopping list. I never take a list to the store any more.......
So, he found the Grocery King app for me. I downloaded it ($4.99) and so far, it takes a little bit more time to set up as while there are many preloaded items (generic AND name brand) already installed, if there is something that is not preloaded, then you add it in yourself so that it becomes part of your permanent inventory. The nice thing is that you can just walk around your house and scan the barcodes and a picture and/or item information will install into your permanent list, including "average price" (which I don't really need, but is interesting to see anyway). This app also allows you to make numerous lists, including specific retail stores (with logos), generic lists (ie, for a party or for Thanksgiving), and/or recipe lists. The second paragraph is mine; the first and third were her quotes.

Sorry for having so many posts on one subject: we must be limited on space (mercifully it will keep FJ from coming here) but does this make sense to anyone: 'I have to have "the best of the best" grocery app, but I went to the store with paper lists which may be because my medications needs adjusting, and lost the folder?????'
I just used her own words. BTW, this exchange with her, one of many, was the reason I came over here primarily, and will drop in every once in a while on the OB, but I'm going to stay here.

Good point, Nancy! She's trying to spar with Alina, who has a PhD, and is really smart. Alina really helped me when I got LC. (I'm still not that crazy about it, though.) My scanner has recognition software, so I can just scan the recipes in, but I let it go. Why bother trying to tell her. From her posts, I wonder if she actually has a computer (rather than one she uses which belongs to her employer or facility) or a Droid. IPhones have more apps, but the ones I have for Droid are pretty good. BTW, did anyone notice that this never-ending, highly dramatic NYE party came on the heels of our gushing praise of our Darcie's Kate's and Becca's blogs? Nance: I double dog dare you to go over and post that comment on the OB......
