Subject: Useful and/or fun cooking & kitchen apps???
Just wondering, what kind of fun and/or useful cooking apps do you have loaded on your phone(s)?

Currently, I enjoy the Out of Milk grocery shopping app and a Barcode app for streamlining my lists. Really, that's all I have cooking-related(don't like to junk up my phone with too many apps, but useful ones are worth it), other than a Fruit Ninja game app that I downloaded for those times when I am waiting and need to waste time (ie, at the dentists' office waiting for my kids, etc).

Just wondering that, with the thousands of apps out there, what kind of cooking apps (other than CI) that you have loaded on your phones and find helpful?

PS. Sorry CI, but I can't use/buy your app. I'm on a Droid X.

I have Mighty Grocery lite, but I think I'm going to buy the full version (.$99)You can make lists by stores, and save favorites and history. The barcode scanner comes with the paid version.

I also have:

Wegman's and Tops have grocery lists on their sites, which are tied to their weekly flyers and the specials, so I use those.
Becca turned me on to Screebl, which keeps your phone on.

My hubby, bless his heart, found a new grocery list app for me, as he knows that I am looking for one that is "the best of the best". The Out of Milk one that I'm currently using is good and the interface is user friendly, but for some reason, when I cross an item off the list, it tends to cross OTHER items off as well, even the ones I haven't bought yet. This is frustrating.

So, he found the Grocery King app for me. I downloaded it ($4.99) and so far, it takes a little bit more time to set up as while there are many preloaded items (generic AND name brand) already installed, if there is something that is not preloaded, then you add it in yourself so that it becomes part of your permanent inventory. The nice thing is that you can just walk around your house and scan the barcodes and a picture and/or item information will install into your permanent list, including "average price" (which I don't really need, but is interesting to see anyway). This app also allows you to make numerous lists, including specific retail stores (with logos), generic lists (ie, for a party or for Thanksgiving), and/or recipe lists.

Grocery lists have always been a big deal for me. I used to keep a thick spiral notebook in my pen drawer in the kitchen, writing down needed ingredients as I go, but the problem is that I tended to forget my list at home (or sometimes in the car). Also, there has been at least one occasion where I brought the list to the store, and managed to buy everything on the list! Only to get home and discover that it wasn't my most recent list. The list that I bought from was a previous list, of which all of the items I already purchased!!!

So, since I have my phone with me at all times, hopefully this will ensure that all of my lists are with me at all times.

Anyways, I have 24hrs to decide if I like this app enough to keep it, or else I can get a refund. Will post back with my reviews.
