That sucks...pets do become one of the family (cats excluded ) Anything with Butter, bacon, cheese, picante sauce should help.

Nice touch to have Clara as your avatar; I missed it the first time! I note a bit of deviousness in the tilt of the head

Amy, you know how I feel about your loss....comfort food is a good idea and you ahve some of the best recipes at hand. I always turn to soup and pasta when I need help from food. Sorry someone has offended you....hope you don't rest too long, this board would not be the same without you. Ilene

I had to put my beautiful Sadie down about 6 yeqars ago and I still get teary every time I see the breed. Best thing for me was to let it out - I cried for days. The loss of a pet is such a painful experience. Only time will help. fitzie

Oh, no, Clara! Cream of tomato soup, with Trader Joe's (or Pepperidge Farm) cannister biscuits.

Oh Amy, you have not had a good time of it lately. I do wish I could bring you soup. It is comforting to be brought soup. I also agree with Fitzie, just cry. I also like screaming and swearing while driving (alone). I am so sorry you have to go through this.

Oh, Amy. I'm so sorry about Clara. Losing a pet is like losing a little piece of your heart. Just remember how much she added to your life.
Hugs.

I can't remember being hungry when I lost each one of my guys...but I think comfort food from childhood would probably suit. Tomato soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, any type of casserole made with hamburger and pasta (ok, in my childhood this would have come from a box with a giant hand on it), and perhaps most important of all, hot tea. Lots and lots of hot tea with milk. That's what I remember living on....that and whatever DH shoved in front of me and made me put in, but honestly, I think it all tastes like sawdust for a while.
I wish we could send you a care package filled with casseroles and homemade soup, even if it wouldn't taste good anyway.
