 That depends on what style you're going for.  I was making hashed browns for hashbrown "omlettes", where I want a single thin sheet of hashbrown.  For that, you don't want to wash the potato or it doesn't stick together right.

					| In that case, add an egg to them. With crispy bacon bits.   And a splash of Tabasco.
 Ensure you fry 'em up in a lot of clarified butter with salt.  Get 'em crunchy.
 
 And don't forget the sea salt n' pepper.
