So in the Philippines we call it "a-dog-bo". Very traditional new years dish in some places, so kinda pc and kinda not. Some upscale Manilanos wrinkle their nose in disgust, pretend it's chicken and reach for more.

You know, in general meat is meat to me and it's all about equally distateful. However, dogs seem especially inedible to me mostly because of their diet. However, I would take it over insects or sea cucumber.

I dunno, them sea cukes are pretty good. Though I've never actually eaten one, just pointed at it when scuba diving. I missed my big chance to try a-dog-bo when I came down with some bug or whatever and couldn't attend a traditional new years party here shortly after arriving. While some expats find the consumption of dog abhorrent, I do not. I would try it, though probably not make it a mainstay of my diet. On the other hand, I am fabricating a smoker and the local dogs running loose are a nuisance. What's that adage about two birds with one stone? Wonder if tangy mesquite or a sweet apple would be the better wood choice?

Lu,
I've had sea cucumbers forced on me twice in Japan. If there's a third time, I will invent an emergency and flee the restaurant. If I had to decide between eating sea cucumbers and live termites (my other ethnic food horror story), I'm not sure which I'd choose. It's that bad.
Think "chopped chicken gristle coated in mucus".
