I just got this magazine (Cuisine at Home) in the mail. It seems I have been selected for a special preview issue. It wants me to subscribe. It seems very CI, though none of the names in the author/editorial list mean anything to me. It has no ads, has a Chicken Piccata recipe on he front cover, an Old-Fashioned Chocolate Cake recipe in the back, tips on grilling the best steaks, and devotes several pages to the best way to make Creme Brulee. The words, "ultimate," "cloying," and "insipid" don't appear anywhere that I can see (based on my quick skim). Nor is there a folksy intro at the beginning. They do spring for color photos of everything. I have little inclination to subscribe to another print magazine, as I tend to cook from books, the web, or my own inspiration these days. However, if I were to subscribe to something for inspiration, I might just pick this one (assuming I try some of these recipes and am pleased with the results). I like CaH. They have some good recipes and I like the format. I don't subscribe, but I do buy it every now and then. |

I subscribe, and quite like it. It has tweaks on common recipes. The last one I made was carrot latkes (rather than potato, of course.) Very creative ideas, and most of them are fairly simple. They don't have a website, so I get the print. |

If you sign up to their website they do send weekly recipes, I've tried a few and liked them. I bought a Christmas issue once and made a few things that were excellent, however I'm not wild with their recipe layout/instructions. Makes me have to follow a little closer than I normally do with recipes.  It's been talked up a lot on TOBB. I think Alina really likes them. |

The poached mozzarella recipe I posted was from their newsletter and I also made a white sangria from them that was awesome. Even the men I had over (who are quick to poo poo girly drinks) were into that. Their last recipe also looked very good, roasted leg of lamb with artichokes. I have never seen the real mag, I will have to pick one up next summer. Mary |

My in-laws used get this. However, the recipes tend to be 70% to 80% meat-based, so I never had any interest. At least, they used to be. |
