I was just given a bag of forbidden rice as a hostess gift (I have the bestest friends!), but I have never used it. Any recipes that you use? Also, what's it taste like?

I have this but it is called purple rice. It is more along the lines of brown rice as far as taste goes, everyone here liked it. I made it mixed half with white rice and the color was a nice lavender (very pretty alongside salmon). I think I did it in broth and chopped some fresh herbs in at the end. It has been a while but I think I still have some so maybe I should try it again.
Enjoy.

Great, thanks! Lavender rice would be interesting.

I've used it as a mix-in in ciabatta. Cooked and cooled, then a bit stirred in at the end of mixing. Worked great.
