So for my birthday yesterday we went to Piperade, Gerard Hirogoyen's restaurant. Definitely worthwhile, but definitely a special occasion place ($$$$).

Two appetizers: a Dungeness crab thing, and a very snazzy goat-cheese-stuffed piquillo pepper:

These were both, of course, delicious.

Second is the most exciting one of my birthday "presents"; they're delivering a new stove tommorrow. Yaaay! We got the landlord to agree and bought a Summit range.

Happy birthday, merry stove and that crab thingy looks sublime.

PS did you ever eat at Kinkaids, by the SFO airport Hilton? I had a killer meal there a couple years ago.

I know I'm a little slow this morning but it seems for your birthday you got crabs... Am I missing somethin' 'ere about the celebratory nature of this?

Happy birthday Fuzzy!

And excellent news on the stove, it really sucks when people who cook have horrible stoves and so many showroom kitchens belong to people who don't cook at all.

Wino - my screen needed to be cleaned after that. I should know better than to drink while reading this board. ;-)
