Currently in use for first class passengers but the success of the technology, the water savings, and the reduced use of pesticides, herbicides, etc. has huge ramifications.

Dave will drool...!

Dave - do you freeze some of your potato rye loaves or will they keep?

Every little bit helps, when it comes to better farming. I would be interested in seeing a cost comparison for the different production methods.

Wino, I always freeze the extra loaves I bake, and they keep well in the freezer for a month or two; otherwise, they will mold eventually, esp. in the summer (I don't keep them out longer than 2 days then - after that, it goes in the fridge). I rarely only bake one loaf, though I did recently, to try some ajwain seeds (a.k.a. bishops weed or carom) in a loaf, in place of caraway. It was OK, but I think it would be better in a small amount addition to regular caraway, like I do with russian caraway (a.k.a. nigella or kalonji).

Further to this technology is this story from the LATimes:

In case you are unfamiliar with Compton - it can be one very dangerous place.
