Am mighty jealous! Looking forward to reading about all your escapades.

Hi,

I need help with a sous vide technique. Yes, I own no equipment, whatsoever.

The story: We're in Delavan, IL (pop. 1,800) to go to a new restaurant. We ride around town looking at some old victorian homes and talk to a man mowing his lawn. To make a wonderful story improbable, he gives us a bottle of pinot noir for dinner before letting me drive his Ferrari 360 Spyder.

The restaurant has lots of sous vide dishes and I'm going to make the cream of turnip soup with sauteed garlic and Spanish style, spicy shrimp. But I lack any sous vide stuff.

I'm thinking a ziplock bag in a stock pot with 180 degree water in a 180 degree oven. PLEASE HELP!

Tim

ps: The restaurant is Harvest Cafe (google that) and worth a trip. I'm going back to drive the 2CV, the Elite or maybe the Elan.
