I made this tonight, from the October CI. Very, very tasty. We eat a lot of meat, and to find a meatless (well, except one anchovy filet) dish that we both really like was good news. I used the "for two version" with two jars of artichoke hearts instead of measuring, and we didn't find it too much. I did make homemade egg noodles and the recommended homemade breadcrumbs. We both quite liked it and found the artichoke flavor shined through very well. It will go into rotation. --Lisa |

So glad you shared this, Lisa. I've got that issue but haven't looked through it yet. It'll be the first recipe I try! Emilie |

Let me know how you like it, Emilie. I am going to soak the leaves a little longer next time. They still had a hint of sourness. It wasn't bad but just somewhat unexpected. --Lisa |

Lisa, If you can get them, you might try it with frozen artichoke hearts instead. Since they're not pickled, they're not sour, and have a better flavor. |

Wino, Huh, they carry them at our market. It's a standard mass-market frozen vegetable brand in the USA, although I don't remember which. Of course, come spring you can make your own non-brined artichoke hearts ... |

I always keep a box in the freezer - the brand is Birds Eye. However, Whole Foods' has good canned artichokes in water, not in brine, that I also like. |

Wino, I've never seen them in Canada either. |
