Hitting Prague for the second time, next month, this time with Kris. Anyone have recommendations for interesting foodie stuff I might have missed the first time? Restaurants? |

We have an actor friend who's living there while filming the 2nd season of the Borgias (he plays the Pope in the BBC version). I'll email him. Nance |

Here's one recommendation. More to come... "I had dinner tonight in the most in incredible vegetarian restaurant...in Prague. It is called Maitrea. It is the Old Town area, address is Tynska ulicka 6. Call for reservations +420 221 711 631. It is fantastic and cheap." |

A friend of mine was a tourist guide for hire for many years in Prague and recommends this site: http://www.vegetarian.cz/ According to my dear friend, in response to my query, Quote: If you click on KDE SE NAJIST? towards the top, then a new menu appears and that has the English flag on the left. |

Here is another. Sorry it's a bit cryptic but this is directly from my friends' wife: "I also remember that the restaurant at the palace was excellent and not expensive. We commented on how much better it was than cafes in USA museums etc." Nance |

A few more recommendations for you from our friend: "There are plenty of good restaurants in Prague. Here are a few that I like: Nostress, French-Asian fusion, Dusni 10 Divinis, Italian, Tynska 21 Apostila, Continental, Tynska ulicka 2/628 Hergetova Cihelna, on the river near Charles Bridge on the Castle side...great spot, good food. Zdenek's Oyster Bar, Mala Stupartska 7 Pasta Fresca, Celetna 11 Pizza Nuova, Revolucni 1 Kogo, very good Italian/Continental La Fenestra, one of the best, expensive but excellent. Kolnikova, Czech, across the street from Nostress. Very popular...good Czech food. He won't have any problem eating well in Prague. John D." Enjoy!! Nance |

I think I ate at the one on the river. It was fantastic. Also, if your actor friend is Johnny Depp, I am going to shoot myself. After Bobby Sherman it would be way too much. Mary |
