Post subject: | Insulated Carry Bags |
I am thinking of getting a friend an insulated carry bag for food for her birthday. She does a lot of extra cooking and toting to other people's houses for those who don't cook. I am thinking soft sided because it should be easier to store, but does anyone know if these fold or at least squish down when not in use? http://www.webstaurantstore.com/black-i ... Hi Lisa the link says they fold down so it should work. I have a couple of these: http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0053/4 ... 1366235143 from Costco and Sams club and keep them in my car all the time for grocery shopping (milk, icecream, etc) in the summer months. Works great with hot stuff too, but not as easy to transport as the one you linked to as the bags need to be held sideways with sheet trays or larger baking pans. |

Hi Jean, Thanks, I completely missed the text that says they fold. I have a similar bag to yours that I got from Sam's - it was what gave me the idea to get this one for her! --Lisa |

Lisa, It says the interior is 12 inches wide. do you think with the squish factor a 9x13 dish would fit in here? That seems to be what I am traveling with many times. I may have to get one of these too... Karen |

Karen, I am not sure just how soft sided it is, but it isn't rigid (the rigid ones are $170). I would imagine it would bend a bit but it might break down the foam over time. Still, they are inexpensive so you could see how it worked and it if worked well, it would be cheap enough to replace every four or five years. --Lisa |

Welp, it came today, in an absolutely enormous box. It doesn't fold. I'll give her the option of keeping it or me exchanging it. While I think this would be a huge help to have, it would be a real problem to store at least in my house! --Lisa |
