I've been a SmugMug customer for over a decade.
The reason why is that it's a simple site which simply and directly provides excellent photo storage and album organization for a straight-up annual fee. No advertisting tie-ins, no backwards-incompatible changes without notice, no extra fees for routine activities. Just hosting your pictures. Smugmug is popular with professional photographers.

Wino, I used to share with photobucket for hockey shots. Was really clunky but I liked the privacy aspects. Haven't had to do that in a long time though. Recently used "cluster"app for some wedding pics that I needed to share and it worked well for sharing stuff right on my phone, no idea how it works with computer based photos for sharing.

I finally got a Mac which solved a lot of my photo and photo sharing issues. Not very cost effective in the short run but since I use it for work anyway, I justified the expense. I buy extra storage from DropBox and iCloud.

Thanks for this, Ivy. We use a lot of Apple products, as well as PC/MS because of our business. There is really no reason I can’t use both for my photos. Greatly appreciate your suggestion!
