So, my new blade is loose ... it doesn't fit the shaft in the Cuisinart tightly, and as a result tends to pop off if you run it for a while with dry ingredients. Anyone else have this issue?

Mine requires some pressure to get it off. Is it seated all the way to the bottom? If it slides in and out all the way to the bottom easily, you need the blade or the shaft replaced. Time to call Cuisinart Customer Service. I had to replace the shaft on my very first one, in 1977. They sent a new one and talked me through the switch on the phone.
