... so here it is:

http://www.generalmills.com/flour/

Yeah, pretty much just the most popular flour sold in the USA. And probably some other places as well.

I feel like the FDA/USDA must have a big sign somewhere with "___ Days Since a Major Food Recall".

Kinda weird.

Quote:
To date, E. coli O121 has not been found in any General Mills flour products or in the flour manufacturing facility

That will be a very very expensive recall based on the only evidence being a loose correlation in a small sample. One wonders if there is more data that is carefully being avoided (though there is little weaselling in that statement, except for being rather precise in which strain of E. coli). Or is General Mills that paranoid? Or are homemade baked goods so infrequent that 1/2 of people made ill, and some used GM products, actually a very strong correlation.

I find this troubling since they haven't found any E.coli in any of the products or in the plant. Surely there is something else that connects these things, since only 25% of the people sickened actually used GM flour.

Of course, I just fed my sourdough starter and was cleaning flour from under my nails as I was reading this. But I buy King Arthur bread flour. Almost always. Unless they are out at Publix. BRB, washing my hands better than I did last time.

Fortunately, I don't use GM flour either. We have Wheat Montana Flour here so that's what I use. My specialty flours come from King Arthur.

Paul,

Well, this is good news for KA and similar, I suppose.
