The time has come: I'm getting rid of my collection of nearly 10 years of Cook's Illustrated. I just don't use them anymore.

This includes most of the issues from 2000 to 2009, plus the 1994-2004 printed index. Shipping for these is liable to be somewhat expensive, they're quite heavy. They may be able to go media mail, though, we'll see. But only if someone wants them.

(and yeah, our library does not want them)

Still have my own collection and find all their recipes way too fussy for the way we eat these days. But I'm sure you'll find a taker Josh!

Said the library doesn't want them. If you find no takers then perhaps a high school might want them, or a senior's home.

Half Price Books might be interested and you could make enough money to treat yourself to lunch. We have several of their stores here. They don't pay much but it's so hard to find takers for used books and magazines. Have you tried Craig's List?

There's no Half Price Books in SF. And Green Apple isn't worth dealing with.

And, to be frank, if it's going to take more than 20min of my time to dispose of them ... into the recycling they go.

I'm gradually getting rid of mine too; they just take up too much room and I know that eventually I'll have to deal with them as well as all the books and cookbooks I've collected over the years.
I still subscribe to CI and CC and always will but I don't buy cookbooks anymore no matter how much I'm tempted.

If there's a thrift shop nearby, they would probably take them

If you can't find anyone to take them, I will happily pay you to ship me the index, the 2009 issues and May 2000 (which has disappeared into the ether from my collection). I don't want to make a bunch of extra work for you, though.

I trashed most of my old magazines. I found I was keeping them just because I had them and giving them more value than they really had. It was very liberating letting them go.
