Yesterday I made a trip to Costco for the first time in several months. I usually go more often but in recent years I've become more intolerant of what I call the "scream fest", the ill-behaved kiddos whose parents let them run wild, screaming and crying. So I avoid going during the summer months. Anyway, as it usually happens lots of new things have arrived whilst I was away. Of particular interest were the two kinds of beets since I simply cannot resist beets! There are already prepared beets, vac-packed as well as a two pack of jarred, 'sweet pickled beets'. I bought both and they look really wonderful. I'll definitely go back much more often now.

Are the sweet pickled ones in strips or rounds? I love the ones in strips. We've had the cryovac beets from both Costco and TJs. I love them. Because of the packaging they last a long time.

No opinion here on the beets but definitely have one re: Costco shopper annoyances (meaning annoyance as a result of a shopper). What drives me insane are the people who choose to make the sample stations their lunch and so just park themselves while they stand there and eat and so clog up all the aisles. My brother and I often end up running in there at that time of day and we literally want to smuggle in an airsoft gun and shoot them all in the butt.

Alina, They look to be cut into smallish strips, definitely not rounds. I have a stockpile of beets now, a bunch of fresh ones from the grocery store as well as my score from Costco, otherwise I'd have cracked a jar open by now.
Emilie, I know exactly what you mean. I swear some of those people act as though they've never seen food before! My solution to that now is to go in the morning, shortly after they open and before the food samples are set out.

Or the people who stand in the middle of the aisle or main pathway blocking everyone as they obliviously look around or chat with their family who are part of the blockage...
