No, but if I remember, I will.

Somebody needs to be in charge of reminding us all about the corn hints next summer!

I love it when High Tech meets Real Tech and we all get to eat the results! Not really sous vide, but I've been known to fill my cooler with hot water from time to time as well. I even tried it for doing larger batches of the deep fried egg yolks from a different thread.

It is or will soon be corn season and time to bump up the "cooler corn" topic along a link to Snopes that concluded that it Can be done, but likely bad advice because of the Bisphenol A that is or may be dangerous when heated and used as a cooking vessel. Good excuse to buy a water oven.

There are also 3 Amazing Corn Tricks You Can't Live Without This Summer from America's Test Kitchen's classic hits collection.

I'll stick with SV corn on the cob...

My cooler is usually busy, well, cooling.

Here's my favorite corn trick -- using the microwave to husk and strip the silk for you: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/all-we-can-eat/post/microwaving-corn-in-the-husk-smooth-as-silk/2012/06/08/gJQA04feOV_blog.html?wprss=rss_food. Besides I think this is a neat old codger demonstrating it.

He (our someone else of that age) was on the Today Show last year or so demonstrating the same thing. Works.

I tried this trick over the weekend. It worked great but the corn was overcooked. I'll try again but only microwave the corn for 4-5 minutes
