Hi all
I have an appointment with the Dean of The Culinary School at Johnson & Wales University on Wednesday to look at kitchens for our meet-up. They have agreed to allow us to use a kitchen, as long as one of their chefs can be present.
I don't know how much rent they will charge, but I think it will be minimal. They don't normally do this so it is all new to them.
For those of you have been to meet ups in the past, is there something specific I should be looking for in the kitchen?

Thanks Amy...that will be good to know.
I also looked back in this thread to confirm the dates....Sept 16-18, with the demo's being on Sat the 17th.
Once I get the kitchen confirmed, I will work on the hotel. I talked to the regional vp for Starwood Hotels and he is very willing to work with us. There is no big citywide convention in town that weekend, but one is arriving on the 18th. If anyone wants to come early or stay later, I am sure the hotel will extend our rate if space is available. I am hoping we can be at either the Westin or the Sheraton on the 16th Street Mall in the heart of downtown. I will also make sure that one of the rooms is a suite that we can use to gather.
We have a company in Denver that cures meat for restaurants and typically on Fridays they throw open the doors to the public for tours and tastings. I will check to see if they will be open on the 16th or do something special for us since so many of you are into that.
That's all I know right now....Amy and I will be sure to plan some other interesting excursions and dinning.

I will check....the only thing that would concern me about October is the possibility of some weather issue.(typically spectacular but unpredictable) and it is prime convention time for Denver. I'll see if the first weekend in Oct is a possibility.
