As part of my Xmas money spending spree, I bought The Blue Chair Jam Cookbook. I haven't made anything yet, but it is definitely some high caliber food porn. And yes, there is a chapter on figs...and the jams made from them.

When I worked in School lunch, one of the commodities we could order was Figs. I would have the baker make Fig Newtons. These bars were awesome and the Fig filling was excellent.

Currently in San Diego/La Jolla where I have to be careful where I step to avoid steeping on the numerous fallen figs in the open air malls . . . sigh. I didn't have this problem last week while shoveling the snow from my driveway - once again!

I'll let you know when and if I make some. The one with sherry and fennel looks interesting.
