This post was on the OB, and since I benefited from it, thought I'd drag it over here......

Subject: 50% off ATK books at Barnes and Noble
B&N had a pile of ATK books 50% off, including the spiral bound baking one, the best simple recipes, the healthy one, and the one with all the TV shows, and some others. I bought the TV show one and also the 100 favorite recipes magazine (I've never seen a magazine 50% off LOL)

I got ATK's The Best Simple Recipe for $14+, and any time I pay about for a book, what I am asked to pay for a magazine - in this case, a little more, but the last holiday coooking mag I looked at was $9.99 - I'll grab it. Also, no shipping, and keeps me off the BOMC from Cook's.

Stealing yet another (interesting) post.....

Hey everyone, Tim here from ThermoWorks.

Thermapens are built to last years and years. Equally important, ThermoWorks runs a full repair and calibration shop with speedy and affordable service (any warranty issues and even many malfunctions after warranty are repaired free of charge).

As far as accuracy is concerned, the new Thermapens are accurate to within 0.72°F between -58°F and 392°F with a little less accuracy on the far upper range (accurate to within 1.8°F between 392°F and 572°F).

The best way to know how accurate your Thermapen is is to test it with an ice bath, but be sure to make a proper ice bath (see http://www.thermoworks.com/blog/2010/10 ... -ice-bath/ ). If your Thermapen ends up above 32.7°F or below 31.3°F, you should contact us at service@thermoworks.com...

Thanks!
Tim

I had to edit your post to take out the patented Chris Kimball URL breaker. Just couldn't help myself...
