Post subject:  Momofuku Milk Bar cookbook?

I read on a cooking blog that Momofuku's Milk Bar will be coming out with a cookbook this fall, but can't find anything on their website or Amazon. Anyone else heard this?

I would be VERY excited about this one!

Kate,

I could google it, but I'd rather have you explain what you're talking about.

I assumed that a "Momofuku Milk Bar" was some kind of Tibetan-Japanese candy bar. No?

LOL, no, Momofuku is the insanely hot restaurant group in NYC headed by David Chang. The Momofuku cookbook is the #1 or #2 selling cookbook on Amazon (although I am sure very few of the buyers are actually making the recipes - they are challenging, to say the least). Milk Bar is their dessert place and they supposedly have the best chocolate chip cookies in NYC. Bon Appetit recently did a feature on Milk Bar and included 3 recipes.

Here's David Chang's Wiki entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Chang_(chef)

The Bitten Word guys turned me on to this - well, also Anderson Cooper raves about Crack Pie.

Yes, that's where I think I read about the book, on The Bitten Word.

Because of you lot, I just bought the momofuku book, and I see I'll have to make the ramen noodles out of it. I visited a very japanese ramen noodle place in honolulu, and it was an interesting experience, in part because I still have no idea what I ordered. Actually did a couple of places. Then, you know, only a few more dollars to get free shipping, so I bought the keller sous vide book too. Damn shipping is expensive.

We've tried some Momofuku-inspired dishes at the restaurant. Some have worked, others have not. I think we still have a few of 'didn't work' things in the walk-in trying figure out what in the world to do with them.
