I just wanted to tout this cookbook, "Baked" from the bakery of the same name in Brooklyn. I have been making something almost weekly from the book since I got it and everything has been womderful. They have a second book coming out in October and I cannot wait to get it (I pre ordered it at Amazom). If you need new inspiration or a gift for a baker, take a look at it.

Ilene,

Thanks, I'll think about it for Kris.

I have this and it is an awesome book. Their Brownies are the best. I know you have tried the Sweet and Salty Cake?

Todd:
I also love the brownies....the new book will have a recipe for brownies with salty caramel, so I've been kind of "fudging" it by making brownies, pouring half of the batter in the baking dish, covering that with their salty caramel and then topping with the rest of the brownie batter and then sprinkling salt on top. The best brownie ever!
I emailed the guys to see if this would work, and they said all you need to remember is to make sure the caramel is completely covered with the batter.
You got me hooked on "baked" when you posted the cake recipe.

I made the Root Beer cake for my 50th a week ago and it was really good. I really liked the texture of the cake.

I made the Root beer Float Cake to take to a party and it was perfect. That first bite really tastes like a good root beer float.
I made the peanut butter cookies last weekend and they are definitely not your grandmother's peanut butter cookie...more butter than peanut!

Thanks for the good review Todd, I've been wondering where you've been.

I've been reading books and not surfing as much and work has also been busy, so not much browsing going on there either.
