Can anyone recommend a bread machine cookbook? Desired traits: * measure by weight * lots of whole-grain recipes We picked up a used Welbilt bread machine and would like to use it more. |

I have a few, when I get back from town I'll take a look at them and see if any might be what you need. |

Pros: Lots of whole grain recipes, and has three sizes of loaf. I haven't had anything unsuccessful out of it yet. Good book. Cons: Volume measure, no weights. Rustic European Breads from your Bread Machine by Eckhardt and Butts Pros: Lots of interesting stuff here. We have liked the few things we have tried. Cons: Expensive for a glorified hardcover photocopy. Volume, no weights. Almost everything starts in the breadmaker and finishes outside. --Lisa |

Those that I would recommend you take a look at: Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day The Artisan Bread Machine Whole Grain Breads by machine or hand Unfortunately, none of these use measures by weight. King Arthur Flour is about the only source that I know of that gives the option of volume, ounces or grams. Their recipes almost always have options for use of a bread machine and are well-tested and reviewed. |

Linda, Lisa, Thanks! We found a bread machine cookbook at the library, too. We'll try some of these out. |

Josh, I seem to remember that this one was recommended in TOBB. |

Worldwide Sourdoughs From Your Bread Machine -- Ed Wood and Donna Rathmell German, published by Nitty Gritty Cookbooks. Doesn't have weights (I just pencil in the weights from KA on any recipes from this book that I make.), but the breads are great, particularly the Light Swedish Limpa. Also, I don't think Ed likes Donna too much, or at least he's not too fond of her recipes, so that's hilarious. |

JB, Will look, although the Nitty Gritties are increasingly hard to find in used bookstores. Their paper quality was low, and most are falling apart now. |
