So we just did a purge of the cookbook shelves, and there's a few things I'm getting rid of someone on the board might want. They're yours for the cost of postage (from the US, sorry Jean Paul Mary etc.).

  • Muffins by Elizabeth Alston
  • James Peterson's Sauces
  • ATK Family Baking Book (soft cover ARC)
  • Morning Food by Fox and Bear
  • Recipes and Reminisces of New Orleans

The last is an interesting 1971 Junior League style cookbook from the Ursuline Academy. It's more useful as a historical snapshot of what Creole food was like before Paul Pruhomme than as an actual cookbook. I am, of course, getting rid of more books, but the remaining ones are of little interest.

Anyway, let me know before Thanksgiving, because at that point these cookbooks are going to the Jackson County Library.

Just found one more which could be kind of interesting for someone (Dave?):

Food For the Emperor The original 1963 printing of John Key's translations of Imperial Chinese Cuisine recipes given to him by Chinese ex-pats. Again, more interesting historically than culinarily, and particularly useless to me (too much meat). But surely someone wants this from a cultural perspective? It's in near-mint condition.

So, I have a copy of the original edition of Culinaria: European Specialties available. Both volumes, with their original box. $25 plus shipping, Very Good to Fine condition. Shipping costs are liable to be substantial ($15-$20) given the weight.

Lemme know if anyone wants this. Otherwise, we'll sell it to strangers for more. Available through December 27th.
