I often browse through Dollar Tree but I'll only enter Dollar General when I'm desperate. They don't take the "dollar" part of their name seriously. |

We hate Dollar General. Hate. Hate. Hate. They've just built a crappy store at the entrance to our neighborhood and it totally craps up the beautiful historic/rural landscape and the traffic impact is going to cause a lot of problems/danger. Plus from what I understand they treat their employees like garbage. Plus they prey on the poor. Sorry for the thread hijack. Just a wee bit of a hot button there  Emilie |

In northern VT Dollar General seems to be buying up a lot of small independent groceries and becoming the only game in (a very small) town. I suppose it's good that the residents have something that's not a 30-45 minute drive away, but another part of me pines for the simplicity of times gone by. |
