In case anyone missed the Amazon deal, here is a similar B&N deal for today, Dec 2. Save 25% on any one book: CMONDAY25

Thanks, Lisa! I actually got more than $10 off the book I ordered (barely, but more, so it beat Amazon) - Thai Street Food, by David Thompson. I'd been waiting for some deal like this, where they would have the usual discount, PLUS another added on top of it, and they did! I had to go through the entire order, until the very last page, to see if they would add on the 25% discount, plus the usual 30% off, plus the free shipping, and it worked! So I got a $60 book for just $31.50

I'll tell my best friend (the one who eats most of my Thai food) that that's his Christmas present! LOL

Dave, Glad to hear that!

I bought MC@H for myself and paid around $70. Early birthday present to myself but I couldn't convince the gift giver (me) that I needed the whole MC. ;)

Dave and Lisa,

Can you please enlighten me as to how you managed to get these discounts? I never buy from B&N, but will if I can get deep discounts on cookbooks.

Amy,

The first coupon code I got just by visiting their website - it was a front page Black Friday deal.I bought my Dad's GF a Nook for $50 the same day. I also got a second one that was emailed to me as a discount club member.

Amy,

I have probably only bought 2 or 3 from B&N before this, as their regular discount is usually less than Amazon or JB (which used to have 40% discount on almost everything new, but no longer). Many places don't add a discount like that 25% off anything to an already discounted item, but I had to try, and it worked!

Most books I get from TGC, wben they have a deal on any book up to $35 - one for $15, two for $12 ea., or three or more for $10 each, plus free shippping! Naturally, I have to get three or more. LOL Those higher priced book I save for one of these deals.

I have another 25% coupon from B&N from a prior purchase and am deciding on what to buy. I am leaning towards Charcuterie by Ruhlman, but am wondering if there is anything else I should consider. I am concerned I won't get as much out of this book because it is so warm here that most cures are impossible. But salting and smoking happen often. :)

Any thoughts? I just bought MC@H as mentioned earlier in this thread.

Thanks,

--Lisa
