Be still my heart...

The seven volume tome of this legendary restaurant is coming out next March.

That may be the most expensive cookbook ever - I can't think of any others that would top it. But I have a funny feeling there may not be one recipe a home cook could do.

Decided to look into this a bit for an EYB blog, and yes, Amy's right, MC was more. But perhaps the most interesting fact we got from the MC publicist. Modernist Cuisine has sold over 50,000 copies - that's over $25 million. And people scoffed when he set up that expensive testing kitchen and hired all the staff!

I will have to think about getting one of these, but I definitely won't get both... so much money!

Lindsay,

I didn't scoff...the man has enough money to fund many, many kitchens. It's nice when you can make your fortune, then pursue your passions. A lucky man indeed.

Amy

P.S. Lisa, you may want to consider Modernist Cuisine at Home.

And now there's Modernist Cuisine at Home App for i-platform, Android soon to follow, $79.99 vs the hard copy of $110.

Plus, there's a free three recipe download which seems to give access to the beginning of the book (the story, the journey, what is MC etc.) All interesting.

Personally, I would never buy the app. I need to feel cookbooks in my hands.
