Made the salad tonight... good god almighty. REALLY good and it went together quickly. The confit tuna was perfect, you put it into the hot oil and let it sit off the heat so it was pretty rare, the mix of harissa, olives, anchovies and preserved lemons was a great combo. I left some without tuna and made some grilled chicken for Miss Who Shall Not Touch Things That Live In Water (conveniently not mentioning the anchovies) and she loved it too.

My other big find was the flat bread recipe: www.finecooking.com/recipes/grilled-oli ... bread.aspx I used 00 flour but otherwise followed the recipe. I could have rolled them thinner, but they were fantastic. It was also a very well written recipe, considering my idiot tendencies.

For anyone interested in the tuna recipe: http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle ... it-recipes

The ratatouille also looks worthwhile. Not sure if that is in the book or not.

Just started reading it today. Looking for recommendations. Mary, that salad sounds good.

I have had good luck with everything so far, the salad was the best thing so far, also the most labor intensive (although not at all ridiculous). I have also made the meatballs with tahini, green bean salad and the crumble dessert as well as the other salad I posted about (with the pita). Just don't make whatever Fuzzy makes!

Mary,

I won't be making any more. Returned it to the library.

Hi All,

I know it has been a while since this thread was commented on, but I thought I would share some recent experience.

We did the sweet potato with figs this weekend - page 26. My wife, who does not like sweet potatoes, really enjoyed it.

One of the authors (Yotam Ottolenghi) also published a book entitled: PLENTY Vibrant Vegetable Recipes from London's Ottoleghi. I bought this book on sale at BJ's Wholesale Club. Last night we did the Soba Noodles with eggplant and mango. Absolute keeper!!

I recommend both!
