So, Deb's cookbook has finally come out:

http://smittenkitchen.com/book/

Haven't cooked anything from it yet (though we have made recipes from her blog several times), but have been paging through it and it looks terrific. Great salad section, lots of vegetarian stuff (a 40-page vegetarian section, plus more veggie stuff elsewhere), lots of tempting recipes I really shouldn't make. Like the "ratatouille sub", a sandwich which would require covering the table in newspaper before eating.

Deb is actually coming to SF tommorrow on a book tour, signing at Omnivore. However, we're not going; Omnivore is tiny, hard for us to get to, and there's already 200 people RSVP'd. We'd be standing out on the street.

I've got it, too. I'll probably try something tomorrow.

I just ordered it. It wasn't at Costco, and the booksigning here was sold out (ticket included cost of the book I think) so just added it to an amazon Christmas order.

Try the farro salad. It is amazing! Perfect for meatless Mondays.

I made the brisket from the book. It's currently in the fridge since our plans changed but the little bit we tried was really good. I've never made brisket and have only ever had it once.
One note- I messed up on the pan choice and didn't realize it needed to be very tightly covered (my mistake, the recipe is clear) and thought foil on my roasting pan would work. It did not and all the liquid evaporated. I have pot roast gravy in the freezer and will reheat in that, but am lamenting the loss of the actual recipe's sauce. the smell in my house was fantastic.
