Amazon.com Review
This very special Kindle collection covers all the culinary ground, from barbecue, grilling, garden vegetables, holiday roasts, potatoes, soups, stews, stir-fries, pasta sauces, pizza, appetizers, salads, shrimp and shellfish, to pies, layer cakes, cookies and brownies, holiday desserts, ice cream, simple fruit desserts, and lots more. It's all you really need in the kitchen and it all sits nice and handy on a Kindle as well. Now your own definitive recipe collection is portable and easy to access, the perfect helper in the kitchen.

Kindle Price: $0.00
I don't have a Kindle but they've been calling my name...

PS: Amazon warns that it's a large file and takes more time than normal to download. The file size is over 8 MB, where a typical Kindle book might be 500 K or so.

Could this be CI's "How To" series as one Kindle title?

I guess I hang out around too many other forums where people already have a Kindle.

My Kindle arrives tomorrow and the CI book gets sent out on March 26. ;)

I got permission this morning to order it. :D

Kathy,

Can you "back up" that file somewhere? If it's a PDF, we could share it around.

Kindle uses a proprietary format with DRM, even for free titles. There are various ways to get into the Kindle format but I haven't looked into ways to go the other way.

The Library showed up on my Kindle this morning.
It has all 25 "How To..." titles as well as a special Kindle-only introduction written by Chris. Each title has a table of contents at the beginning and there's an index in the back (as well as the Kindle's ability to search the text). The index is actually a master table of contents linking to each recipe, arranged by book and section.

The hand-drawn artwork transfers onto the Kindle screen well (the new model has 16 shades of grey).

By the way, I also downloaded a sample of McGee over the weekend - I didn't think that tome transfered as well - it's better suited for browsing but the Kindle transfer is really suited for serial reading. There are some tables that make you scroll horizontally which is a distraction also.

Do you have the original or the Kindle 2?
