Yeah, I really do like them. Some are great reads -- time capsules, almost.
Foods of China was particularly fascinating, as was
Foods of Provincial France which was written by M.F.K Fisher (recipes by Julia).
Foods of Spain is kind of odd. I think the author was sleeping with some Spanish noblewoman because he goes on and on about her (how generous she is to the peasants, how elegantly she dresses, what a great seat she has on horseback). I haven't taken the time to cook many things from the books, but the things I have made always turned out very well.
