My sweetie got me a subscription to "Culture Cheese Magazine", a quarterly oversized magazine full of exotic cheeses, cheesemaking, cooking, wine and beer. If you're a cheese fiend, you'd enjoy it, but probably not otherwise.

Do not get it confused with "Culture Marijuana-Growers Magazine". Different magazine, different publishers.

But is it a different audience?

The overlap is in the homemade Doritos recipes.

I was just checking out their site and it looks pretty interesting. It looks like each magazine is well over 100 pages. I might have to subscribe for a year. The only thing I get now is the KAF newsletter.

All,

The magazine is now over a year old and they've developed some fun themes:

The Cheese Centerfold: it's full 2-folio-page centerfold of a wheel of cheese with a piece cut out of it. Like the centerfolds in other magazines, it's lush, round, tempting, silky, bad for your health, and you can't afford it. http://www.culturecheesemag.com/centerfold_club

Cute Kids: every issue now seems to include at least a mandatory two pictures of uber-cute baby goats.

Gossip: apparently the cheesemakers' world is very small. The letters section, in particular, has an intimate stitch-and-bitch feel.

Anyway, renewing the subscription.

Oooo - anything with a cheese centerfold is for me. I think Santa will be bringing a subscription my way.

Do I even want to know what a Gruyere's turn-offs are?

And you know that Swiss is overly pious-look how holey it is.
