I like Tim's idea of a non-food thread or area that is short lived (or not, just seperated from the cooks and food stuff).

It seems there is always a household or life skill question that I would love the input of the foodies on - like a laundry question, cleaning, gardening, etc.

Everybody got a bit strident, but if presenting the science behind the dangers of food-borne illness is over-reacting then I'm not sure what would have been acceptable discourse.
And the boards over there really don't need someone to tell new posters that they're being rude. A PM to the poster is much more effective.

Nancy, you do seem to get a whoopin' over there!

I think people thought I was being flip when I said I thought that's why rice is fried, but I wasn't kidding. Rice has to be cooked before frying, so it's likely how it was used up.

Also, it appears someone has bumped an old thread about the Cookbook scam. We'll see how long it lasts.

Go ahead and post your question. I don't think they really give a rat's butt about remaining on topic at the CIBB. They just don't want any public belly-aching over their scamalicious selling practices.

Yup...birds of feather...I flew the coop!

Much friendlier flock over here.

Speaking of drama, you've got to check out the "Rice Left Out Overnight" thread that our dear Kathy Henry posted. It was a very simple question which I responded to and then, OMG, the Food Police beat me to a bloody pulp  (But not really funny) .

Sheesh, there are a lot of people with nothing better to do than to let people know they have nothing better to do!!!

All,

If you want to post to a non-food thread on Fridays, be my guest. I can't promise to delete it on Mondays, though, I'm often too busy. ;)

P.S. "scamalicious"?

I've decided that, instead of learning a new word every week, I'm going to invent one.

Josh,

Scamalicious

(Adverb)- 1. A scam that is so corrupt, that it is interesting for the reader to find news on and read about whenever more information is found. 2. When one receives something unwanted through the USPS, UPS, e-mail, or other means that you paid for by accident.

Well, it appears I have officially made the OB's "S-List."

I had asked for soft food ideas for DD (who was having a dental appliance put on, and then went and had a septoplasy, the next week, AND as an extra added bonus, it was the 28th of the month  ) and I posted a thank you for the ideas. Gone. It was there for a minute or two......

Someone posted about RDD; recipe deficit disorder, which I have; also gone.

Clearly, these are not food related, and thanking the boarders who posted with ideas was inflammatory. WTF?
