If there is no upper limit to what you can spend, you can always find a way to spend more. Notice that the celebrants did not use their own money on this event, it was covered by BET. I just hope no one was hurt by those crystals.

Sadly, the article doesn't say how they kept it from collapsing. I expect that a steel underframe was involved. And how on earth did they get it to the reception room? Flatbed truck?

I used to make wedding cakes, although none to compare to that one. Unlike television cakes, they are constructed and delivered in sections, and assembled onsite. Each section has a wood or metal structure embedded in it, and the sections all fit together for final display.

When it's time to slice it up, the caterers just lift the sections apart to make the process manageable.
