Chris is back with Milk Street Magazine. Sign up for your free copy here: http://www.177milkstreet.com/

The first "radio show" is out on podcast already, and I will give it a listen next week when out walking.

They're also shooting TV shows.

I'm pretty interested in this venture. It sounds like he plans to feature more adventurous and ethnic styles of cooking than the more traditional approach of CI, ATK, and CC.

What do you think?

Thanks for posting about this. I'm a big fan of Chris' and will happily follow this new endeavor.

I made a few recipes from the new magazine. They were respectable but not groundbreaking. The 'couscous for tabbouleh' was solid, but you can find similar or better in any Middle Eastern cookbook. The Thai-style coleslaw with coconut milk was, again, quite edible but it didn't wow me. The caramel oranges were rather bland, IMO. Using orange juice in the caramel didn't seem to boost the flavor much and it made the caramel watery. I'll stick with regular old caramel, thanks. If you were someone who has never ventured far from the standard American repetoire this might a good entry point.

Has anyone else tried anything?

Haven't tried anything and probably won't but I did enjoy flipping through my free copy.

Darcie, don't forget that his target audience needs guidance on the best way to roast a chicken. Year after year.

Crispy skin or no crispy skin? It is a conundrum for the ages.
