Got our monthly Penzey's catalog today. At this point, we've started to treat it as a not-very-interesting magazine; put in in the WC as reading material. However, this month was much more interesting than usual.
There's, like, ethnic folks and stuff in the Penzey's catalog! Can you imagine?
A Gurjarati family on page 38. A Jordanian's wife on page 48. Jews on page 40 (ok, they've had Jews before). Between this issue and the gay couple in last month's catalog, Penzey's is in serious danger of losing their small-town-just-folks image.
There's also an unprecedented number of recipes in the catalog, including a full two-page spread of various recipes. Also what I would call "salmon abuse" on page 21.
Anyway, if you didn't get one in the mail, pick one up.
