The Charleston Gazette just informed me today that they were cutting my newspaper column. I guess the few hundred dollars they will save is all they need to remain a viable entity
.I was half expecting the axe to fall at any time, but it still stings. I guess it does free me up to do a serious baking website with tutorials, although the competition is pretty stiff.
I earlier thought about trying to get local publications to pick up my column, but I suppose print media is such a dinosaur it's probably better for me to concentrate on the web. Or maybe I should just pack it all in
It really is their loss. I think your web idea is great. Most people do not subscribe to papers anymore. We still do, but are probably in the minority in our neighborhood.
