Weirdly, this doesn't gross me out. It was always the squishy center that made me not want to eat bugs, but dehydrated crickets doesn't sound so bad.

Maybe if the price/lb comes down in the future I would be willing to try it, but for now, I'll stick with lower priced sources of protein. I doubt that any new and unusual flavor will the sale point, just the novelty effect of being able to tell your friends that they have just eaten crickets!

Chapul (click) was on Shark Tank with an energy bar containing cricket flour. Their website has information showing advantages of cricket flour over beef protein: 6X efficiency in transforming feed into protein, ~12X water use efficiency, higher iron than spinach and higher protein than beef.

I'd eat it (as long as it didn't taste horrible).

Ya know, if it came in crumbles like TVP I would put it in chili, along with some beans.... :shock:

I've eaten chocolate covered grasshoppers before...they were crunchy (the chocolate sure helped in convincing me to eat them).
