Ditto here, Jean! I wouldn't turn down some real truffles, if they were given to me, but I would probably resell them, given the current prices. :D

I'm fortunate to receive a few Oregon truffles each year when they are in season. A friend collects them as a hobby, and sends me a few. I enjoy them, but not for today's prices.

James Beard, who was from Oregon, preferred the Oregon variety. I have never had the french or italian ones.
