Yes and no. Well, maybe. I have nothing against hybrids. I get a bit more concerned with day-glo chickens or whatever. Labeling, if there is a reasonable standard, is okay in my book. Prohibition is a bit more iffy. Like the new law against pate de foie gras? My theory is that should be voted on by the pocket book and not the ballet. If people want it and will buy it, tough luck for all the overfed geese. A bunch of goose huggers disagreed obviously.

"goose hugger"...love it!

I'm still ticked that we put 1/3 of our corn crop in our fuel tanks...

Wow. Read this article. Human genes in cows so they produce milk more like breast milk.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/science-news/9498987/Cows-genetically-modified-to-improve-flavour.html

I definitely would want milk to be labeled if it came from cows that were modified with Human Genes.

As long as it's labeled. I'm not against informed choice.

EDIT: But I guess that's what this thread is about.

Michael Pollan has an excellent promotion of prop 37 in this week's NYT:

I'm not certain that he changed my mind, but the article is very persuasive.

Gary Hirshberg the chairman of Stonyfield Organics was on Bill Maher last night. It was the best exposition of this debate I've seen so far. I was leaning toward no, but after listening to Gary last night I am now leaning toward yes. Here's a link to the discussion
Gary Hirshberg on Bill Maher .

Thanks, Alina. Very interesting. As seen from his perspective, I'm all for it.
