Just read that storing a cut avodcado with a cut onion keeps the avocado from turning brown. Is this true? http://www.thekitchn.com/the-best-way-t ... esh-126950

Lexycat,

Seems unlikely, but there's one way to find out.

How many ways are people going to come up with to stop avocado's from turning brown? I'd swear that we'll eventually see every possible combination published ...

Paul,

Presumably putting them in a sealed container and flooding it with argon gas would work. Kind of overkill though.

Here's my method: I eat the entire avocado.

The argon method would assume oxidization is the underlying cause of browning. If it was actually enzymatic, even the argon gas wouldn't work. I don't know what the cause of browning is, since it falls outside my usefulness (avocado's around here, lol).

OTOH, your method sounds delicious and effective.
