More almond news with some interesting info about how dramatically California water issues affect US food supplies.

It Takes How Much Water to Grow an Almond?!

Actually, a lot of California farmers converted to almonds in order to save water over more thirsty crops ... like grapes and oranges.

I'll do my part by just drinking wine (grapes) and eating strawberries and almonds. That way there will be enough broccoli for the all of you.

We had a lot of rain in the last few days. It was amazing to see how quickly it was absorbed. Usually we get a couple of places with puddles around plants. Now there are none. We send a lot of our water down to the valley. I wish there was a way to ensure that is went to agriculture and none to the golf courses in Palm Springs.
