What, in your opinion, is the best saffron? Had some that I really liked, but don't remember if it was Spanish/Indian/Afghani etc.

Kae,

The "best" is a subjective term that may lead to an irresponsibly expensive purchase.

I'd suggest you read this guide to saffron quality and value - LINK You might also consider their reasonably priced product, maybe not the best but affordable.

I agree with Tim...it's a matter of taste. According to my EC there's a lot of imitation saffron out there, so best trust your source.

Jean,

You're evil! Now I have that song stuck in my head.

Tim,

Saffron.com appears to be another name for Xanath. At least, they share the same street address, and it seems unlikely that competitors would. Interesting that they have two different labels for what seem to be the exact same products at the same prices.

I ordered from Saffron.com. It was expensive, but the shipping was criminal. Oh, well. Will report back. Thanks for the input. Saffron is one I really hate to be without.
