Good idea Amy. Bobby can sit up here and bask in glow of my Christmas present and we can hit the town.

Years ago we desperately needed a new washer & dryer, so that's what I got for my birthday. I guess my lip was hanging pretty low. He set it up and kept asking me if I didn't want to run something through it to see if it worked OK. Like a little brat I said I would tomorrow. So, tomorrow came and I hauled dirty clothes to the laundry room and when I opened the washer, there was a beautiful pair of silk pj's and robe He is the nicest man.

A couple years ago, I got a new 12-inch AC skillet for Xmas. I had a lot of fun telling folks that I got a frying pan for Xmas :o

I never mentioned the other stuff - just the 'frying pan'.

Happy birthday, Kathy.

I don't get this whole "clueless husband" thing. Seems like if you spend that much time with someone you've got to at least get some hints. If you're really stuck, hack their Amazon wishlist (did this for Kris last time when I and her mother ran out of ideas).

AFAIC, the only real excuse for being unable to get someone a good gift is being broke. And even then that's weak if you have free time; the best Christmas gift my MIL ever got was the present of 6 hours of dishwashing (given that CE dinner was 25 guests).

I dunno; I put a lot of effort into gift shopping, and I can't really understand people who don't. But then, I'm metro. :P

Knowing Pete, of course, I'll bet that he has something else planned.

Geekboy gets me in-game mounts and pets. I enjoy them and they don't clutter up the house. He does get me enough kitchen gadgets to say, "I know you've been wanting one of these" and not enough to say, "get in the kitchen."

Actually, we spent today at my parents having late Christmas. I got a Kapoosh. I am now a Kapooshnik.

Peter always gets me very thoughtful presents. This post was just to give everyone giggles. Actually I may have said he got me 2 shelves, but he only got one. I really did want one of these. The shelves we have in the basement are not very sturdy. I could not ask for a better husband.
Lucky me. My bday is actually on 1/28.

I love my dh dearly, but did not pick him for his gift giving skills. Thankfully my oldest son is very perceptive and can now take him in hand. Love all the stories!
