Hey there, everyone! I'm Miriam, I'm new to the forums and I'm a cooking fanatic! Very obviously, I'm not a professional, but this is a hobby that has taken over my life since the age of 10 -- when my grandmother first taught me how to make homemade chocolate chip cookies.

I have actually wanted to get in touch with other chefs/cooks for quite some time, but haven't had the literal time TO get out there and socialize. I have 2 children who I adore, but they keep me very busy. Holding a full time job on top of that is also time consuming. Luckily, I'm on vacation for the next 2 weeks, so I'm using this opportunity to relax and hopefully make some new dishes.

Anyway, I'm super glad to be here. Hope to meet you all soon! Ciao!

Hi and welcome Miriam.
I thought there was a thread where everyone gave a little bio but darned if I could find it. I also am a non-professional cook, not worthy to touch the apron of most on this board but I still love to cook and just find food endlessly interesting. This is a good group so just jump in.

Mary

PS Love the avatar.

Probably not on this board since we're just about all refugees from that other place so we're all pretty familiar. Maybe over there, though.

Hi Miriam,

And, welcome! We are a passionate board, albeit a growing one. How did you find us?

Hi Miriam and welcome;
I also am not a professional cook/chef (Amy may be the only one here) but it is what gives me pleasure and allows me to destress. There are great ideas here as well as lots of giggles.
Where to do live?
