Over the last month or so I was prepping for a party to be held at WindyCon, an SF convention here in Chicago. So I made huge numbers of stuff, all of which got eaten in semi-orgasmic frenzies on Friday and Saturday nights.
1 gross mini chocolate cream pies; cream cheese pie dough crust
1 gross mini turtle tarts; cocoa cookie dough crust
1 gross raspberry ganache tarts; brown sugar dough crust
1 gross malted chocolate pudding tarts; phyllo shells
2 1/2 sheet pans of brownies
1 1/2 sheet pan of chocolate cheesecake, 3" deep
1 1/2 sheet of three layer Devils Food cake
Chocolate chip cookies
chocolate crackle cookies
chocolate filled thumbprints
chocolate and ginger scones
chocolate meringues
we also had a chocolate fountain, three varieties of hot cocoa, chocolate peanut pudding pops and a healthy variety of whiskeys. (and I don't mean cat food)
There are NO leftovers.
This was the first time I've done this completely in my own kitchen-since I'm not working at the moment. (still! ) The freezer was essential!
The name of the event was the Theobromas Bash.

I'm getting a chocoholic rush/sugar rocket just reading this. Sounds divine! Congrats!

You did that in YOUR kitchen??? Wow. Sounds amazingly decadent, how do you get an invite to one of those things?

Mary

PS Yes, welcome back.

Becky,

Wow. That's a lot of chocolate smeared on dr. Who and Princess Leia costumes.

That's the beauty of the Chewbacca costume -- it doesn't show stains.

Geekboy and I obviously need to get to more cons, because that theobromas bash sounds amazing.

Wow is right! How many pies and tarts are in a gross anyways? Seriously, is it 144?

Not much new going on here - in the cooking dept anyways. I've been trying to be less kitchen obsessed. There are now frozen pizzas in my freezer. I still have not used my cake strips, and I bought refrigerated case pie dough for my pumpkin pie. :!:

JesBelle,

Yeah, but the hair gets in everything. Better to go as the 10th Doctor ... brown pinstripes!

Or, if you're a girl (hopefully only if you're a girl) go in a waterproof Princess Leah / Return of the Jedi costume. That way you can just jump in the shower after the event.
