I made CI's pork cooked in milk for dinner tonight but was merely whelmed.

Mary,

Check out Marcella Hazan's recipe for pork loin braised in milk. It's wonderful.

I spent the weekend at a Renaissance Faire, eating things like cheese and bread and garlic sausage and not cooking at all. This week I start prep for the big Theobromas Bash on Nov. 11th, where all the food is chocolate and all the drinks are whiskey.
I'm making several hundred shells of various types- chocolate short dough, brown sugar, graham cracker, cream cheese pie dough, pate au choux and maybe blitz puff paste. Luckily I bought loads of pans and molds over the years, so I can do them in large runs. My co-hosts have gotten themselves a tabletop chocolate tempering machine so they will be making actual chocolates and maybe some chocolate cups.
Fun fun fun!

Becky,

You're trying to make us jealous, aren't you? Well, it won't work!

Don't be too jealous-I only have the time to do this because I'm unemployed. And I have a big-ish freezer.
